qualifications of Centre workers

Pauline Ward

Pauline Ward has been recognised by the Centre as having the necessary knowledge base, experience and skills, and having received the requisite amounts of counselling and bodymind therapy to be considered competent to help people help themselves with their emotional stress in the role of Stress Counsellor and Bodymind Therapist at the Centre. Her knowledge base is indicated in the Centre’s Diploma in Real Counselling. Pauline has the following external qualifications:

  1. Voluntary host family worker for mentally handicapped children and adults, Derbyshire County Council Social Services Department, 1981.
  2. Sexual Harassment Officer, Derbyshire County Council Social services department, 1987.

Pauline has also attended the following external courses:

  1. Basic Counselling (Derbyshire County Council), 1986.
  2. Care in the Community (Derbyshire County Council), 1987.
  3. Mental Health Interest Group (Social Services Department), 1989-90.
  4. Equal Opportunities (Derbyshire County Council).
  5. Advanced Diploma in Counselling (University of Derby), 1991-93.

Pauline has worked at Derby Counselling & Therapy Centre since 1986 in the capacity of Assistant Leader at Stress Self-Help Groups (1986-7) and as Stress Counsellor and Bodymind Therapist since 1989. Pauline regularly receives internal and external supervision on a weekly and monthly basis. Her training is ongoing via the Centre’s weekly Peer Group meeting.

 

Harman Dickson

He has been recognised by the Centre as having the necessary knowledge base, experience and skills, and having received the requisite amounts of counselling and bodymind therapy to be considered competent to help people help themselves with their emotional stress in the role of Stress Counsellor at the Centre. His knowledge base is indicated in the Centre's Diploma in Real Counselling. Harman also has the following external qualification: Certificate in Counselling Skills at The People's College, Nottingham, 1997. Harman has worked at Derby Counselling & Therapy Centre since 1999 in the capacity of Stress Counsellor and regularly receives internal and external supervision on a weekly and monthly basis. His training is ongoing via the Centre's weekly Peer Group meeting.

 

Catrin Harrhy

She has been recognised by the Centre as having the necessary knowledge base, experience and skills, and having received the requisite amount of counselling to be considered competent to help people help themselves with their emotional stress in the capacity of Stress Counsellor at the Centre. Her knowledge base is indicated in the Centre's Diploma in Real Counselling.

 

Catrin also has the following external qualifications: BA Hons Degree in Law and Psychology at the University of Keele, 1981.

 

Catrin has worked at Derby Counselling & Therapy Centre since 2002 in the capacity of Stress Counsellor and regularly receives internal supervision. Her training is ongoing via the Centre's weekly Peer Group meeting.
